ToddMMA: UFC 105 'COUTURE vs VERA' PREDICTIONS

I'm really not too excited about the next two UFC's. Honestly no one knows it yet but they gonna suck. Best card of the year so far was Strikeforce, and seein what's left of what UFC has to offer it's probably gonna stay that way.

Alexander Gustafsson vs Jared Hamman

Movin' on! The best part about this UFC 105 will most likely not air, or everybody will be makin nachos while these fights is takin' place. We got two risin' stars in the light heavy division makin they UFC debuts with Alexander Gustafsson (8-0), and Jared Hamman (10-1). These two guys is both really big 205ers with Gustaffson 6'5", and Hamman at 6'3". I haven't really seen too much of either of these fighters, but I am leaning towards Hamman in this fight. Hamman has had a tougher strength of schedule, and with a big win over Travis Wiuff I can't not go with him. Hamman second round TKO.

Andre Winner vs Rolando Delgado

Andre winner by stompage!

Paul Taylor vs John Hathaway

Alright we got two hometown dudes squarin off in this one with Paul Taylor, and John Hathaway! Paul Taylor a tough dude. I think he proved that to us all in the Chris Lytle fight where he was a pussy hair away from KO'n Lytle, but I got to go with Hathaway on this one.

I think Hathaway's height, and reach gonna play a big factor in this fight, and I think Hath gonna get the KO. If not a KO then a unanimous decision.

Michael Bisping vs Denis Kang

At first glance I thought Kang was gonna take this one easy, but after thinkin about it I think it's gonna be a real close fight either way it go.

After the brutal KO Bisping suffered I could see him coming out real apprehensive. Very similar to Akihiro Gono's fight last weekend at Sengoku '11th Battle' (Gono the opposite end of a huge headkick KO against Hornbuckle). It took Gono like 2min. befo' he even looked comfortable, but eventually got into the fight and pulled out a W.

If Kang is on to this then he should blitz Bisping ASAP at the starting bell of round 1. He need to go Randleman on this shit, because that will be the LAST thing Bisping wants. If Bisping is hesitant at all, with this type of strategy it will be a quick paycheck fo Kang, and a short night fo Bisping.

BUT I don't see Kang comin out blazing. I see him chippin away at Bisping little by little, and the longer he chip away the mo' comfortable Bisping is gonna get. AND once Bisping comfortable that's when he gonna return fire, and that's what's gonna make the fight close.

I know Bisping is the hometown favorite, and I know they is a GOOD chance of him getting a gift decision, but I'm goin' with Denis Kang. Split Decision!

Mike Swick vs Dan Hardy

Mike Swick hungry! Just like Kimbo, and just like Brett Rogers, but they is only one difference!!!
(crickets)
He gonna win this fight! Heheh!

Dan Hardy a tough mofo, but if he had trouble putting Marcus Davis away he gonna have a better chance of puttin Madonna's makeup away. They don't call Swick "The Quick" fo no reason. His speed is his best weapon, and his speed is gonna catch up with Hardy.

Mike Swick via TKO 2nd round.

Randy Couture vs Brandon Vera

Man don't you guys know!?!?!

Don't you guys know this is where Couture likes to be? Fights like this is the whole reason Couture is as big an MMA name as there can be (Aside from ample UFC marketing. HEH!). The whole reason Couture is the best 16-10 dude to ever live is because he wins fights when everybody has finally written him off. Couture vs Ortiz; Couture vs Liddell I; Couture vs Sylvia; Couture vs Gonzaga!

People always say "he gettin' too old", "he ain't winnin this fight", and what happens? The fuckin' guy wins. So with his history of winnin as the underdog, and Brandon Vera thinkin' the same way as everybody else who's written off Couture, I see Randy pullin' out a unanimous decision!

History gonna repeat itself in this fight because it gonna look like 'Couture vs Ortiz' except Vera playin the roll of Tito Ortiz.
