Alright can I just start off by sayin' this was a great card highlighted by dumb fucks with microphones, and wannabe MMA journalists? Correction. Dumb fucks with microphones shouldn't be plural, but Gus Johnson should bare the embarrassment of multiple dumb asses because I don't feel I could bag on him enough.
We got Crap Johnson not wasting anytime to qualify Fedor's punches as wild (apparently Gus doesn't get YouTube in his world of undeserving re-matches, and nearly perfect interviewing posture. That dude stiff as a frozen coatrack.) We got "Ass Camel" Johnson throwin a pitty party fo' Brett Rogers at the very second he's gettin' KO'd, and thank God Mauro Ranallo and Frank Shamrock muffled him out with screams of astonishment because if he said one mo' thing about tires at Sam's Club, and the projects I was gonna drop kick my laptop, and next day mail that dude a petrified cat turd!
Anyways, I will go on to fire-flame Kevin Iole of Yahoo fo' calling the card "lackluster" until Fedor took the cage (http://tinyurl.com/y97d5xh). This guy must have went on vacation befo' CBS Saturday Night fights, and wrote his article a day early because if this guy saw the fights takin' place he must of watched them with scuba gear on.
Gegard Mousasi diffused the "African Assassin", and beat him down out at his own game. Not to mention "Mayhem" was a pussy hair away from chokin' Shields out unconscious... may I carry on? Not to mention Werdum saved the fight and his ass by dominating the last to rounds of his fight with Antonio "Big Foot" Silva! Man how the hell do these commentators make money?!?! They're doing the fans an injustice and perpetuating the "noobdom" in MMA! Noobs read this shit, repeat it with 100% confidence, and boom! You got a dumb ass, accidental troll in an MMA forum!
Anyways the card overall was a 9 out of 10! I hear a lot of people talkin' bout production, but unless you a movie set designer I don't see how any of the MMA fans would really care. Fans is gettin' good fights from good fighters, that FINISH fights so that we don't have another main event fiasco! And on top of that it was free so if you left complainin' you on your own. Saturday Nov. 7th will go down in history as one of the greatest nights in the history of MMA!
Fabricio Werdum vs Antonio "Big Foot" Silva
I predicted this fight in favor of Silva, and fo' the first round I thought, "Todd, you nailed it!" Then I saw "Big Foot" huffin' and puffin' and slowly losin power and explosivity. At the same time Werdum was goin' Hulk Hogan on us and only gettin' mo' mad the longer the beatdown lasted.
Once Werdum withstood the eye of the storm it was all downhill, for "Big Foot" from there. With Silva's stamina compromised Fabricio's black belt took hold, and the rest is history. Close fight, but once Silva gassed his tank, the last two rounds was Werdum's fo the takin' and take he did!
Seems like Werdum's gonna be next in line fo Fedor, because Alistair Overeem didn't get the post-it that he's still Strikeforce's heavyweight champ, and needs to get his ass back to the states! All amongst a sport full of fans who gotta better chance of walkin' on the Moon than Overeem has of passin' a piss test!
Jason "Mayhem" Miller vs Jake Shields A.K.A "0 calorie Tito"
Man these is the fights I can't stand. You got a ground fighter holdin' position 'til the bell and a striker that can't wait to mix it up but can't get perpendicular to the ground. With all the lay n' pray action, that could have only been exciting fo Shields, Mayhem came the closest to finishing the fight in the second round where he was a mouse fart away from ending the fight with a rear-naked choke.
Another flaw in the rules I may say. In MMA no fighter should be saved by the bell. If a fighter has a finishing hold on his opponent where it's fo' sure the other fighter is in trouble, the round should go on until the fighter taps OH gets out of the submission!
But that was not the case Saturday night and Jake Shields won the belt with a performance that would make Tito Ortiz shed a tear.
Gegard Mousasi vs Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou
I was really on top of this fight I have to say. I knew Sokoudjou was gonna cause problems fo' Mousasi, AKA "The Crazy Armenian", but as long as Mousasi didn't get too frustrated and kept his composure the fight would come to him, and Rameau was bound to make a mistake oh gas out.
The Mousasinator missed a kimura attempt in the first, but his unheard of patience fo' a 24 year old fighter allowed him to feast on a TKO in the second round and get his 14th straight win in a row bringin' his record to 27-2. Makin' him a solid candidate fo' fighter of the year.
Fedor Emelianenko vs Brett "The Lunch Ticket Collector" Rogers
A lot of people makin a big deal about Fedor gettin' cut on Rogers' first punch of the fight. I don't hear anyone mentioning that Fedor didn't even flinch, and followed that jab with a left hook that would have ended the fight if he would have stepped into it. Apparently these so-called "MMA enthusiasts" is mo' concerned with the gore than the technicality part of the sport. A man leavin' his face open to nearly be punched senseless is far mo' newsworthy than a cut on Fedor Emelianenko's face. A cut on the nose won't, and didn't stop the fight. A 280lb man leavin his chin open almost ended the fight in the first 20 seconds, and eventually was the doom of "the grim".
As you can see I can't stand these dudes who don't know they ass from a mailbox, and try to talk fighting. Fedor proved that he could take a better lickin' than most people thought. Shutting up the MMA fans who speculated Fedor had a glass jaw, fans that is about as innumerable as conspiracy theorists who think lizards from outer space run the government, but they still enough to mention.
Fedor proved he can, will, and did strike with a bigger stronger striker. Many MMA fans thought this would be an impossible feat with Brett Rogers in the cage. And then they is the fans who thought Fedor would not be able to adapt to the cage. All proven wrong in a little over 7 minutes of fight time!
Now I ain't nuhuggin'. I'm just statin the facts. I'm not sayin Fedor can't be beat, oh KO'd, but it's gonna take a LOT MO than what fighters and fans previously thought!
And what a better way to highlight a historical night in MMA history? Oh we just got Brett Rogers makin' shit up about how the fight will be different in a rematch, and how he should of let his hands go... basically telling the world he choked, and that he won't choke two times in a row. Thanks Brett. We knew you was scared during the weigh-in. No need to tack on empty words that only highlight yo' wounded pride, and embarrassment in front of yo' home crowd.
This is Todd Wentworth! Feel free to stay until the smoke clears, but this has been yo' "Post War" recap of CBS Saturday Night Fights "Fedor vs Rogers". I'm out!!!
"But that was not the case Saturday night and Jake Shields won the belt with a performance that would make Tito Ortiz shed a tear."
ReplyDeleteFucking beautiful man. Can't say I always agree with you, but I'd think twice before betting against ya. Keep up the good work!
