Ok here is the rankings MMAWeekly would like us to believe is the Top 10 MMA Heavyweights.
1. Fedor Emelianenko
2. Brock Lesnar
3. Frank Mir
4. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira
5. Cain Velasquez
6. Randy Couture
7. Junior Dos Santos
8. Brett Rogers
9. Shane Carwin
10. Fabricio Werdum
Ok now here is my TOP 10 Heavies list!
1. Fedor Emelianenko 31-1
2. Josh Barnett 24-5
3. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira 32-5
4. Brock Lesnar 4-1
5. Fabricio Werdum 13-4
6. Brett Rogers 10-1
7. Frank Mir 12-4
8. Aleksander Emelianenko 15-3
9. Andrei Arlovski 15-7
10. Junior Dos Santos 9-0
This is the REAL Top 10, and I know mo' people gonna agree with it than disagree. Isn't it funny how these websites keep Randy Couture on the top 10 heavyweights even though he movin to light heavyweight?
This is a COMPLETE contradiction when you look at the Middleweight rankings. Where is Gegard Mousasi in they middleweight rankings? He movin' up to 205, but he has enough wins at middleweight to be ranked. He is the DREAM Middleweight Grnd Prix Champion, and has wins over Melvin Manhoef, and Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza in the same night with a total "fight time" (I coined the word fight time. It means how much fight spent fighting in octagon oh a cage) of 2 1/2 minutes!
Anyway I also took off Shane Carwin, and Cain Velasquez because they too new to the scene and don't have enough wins over ranked fighters. I replaced them with Josh Barnett, and Andrei Arlovski. I'm guessing this website took off Josh Barnett because they holdin a grudge he busted fo' steroids? He got busted takin steroids. Doesn't mean he's the only one. You tell me Brock Lesnar has never 'roided it with a straight face. He only throws a tantrum every time he's asked a question about it.
And, who the hell OK'd Andrei Arlovski's deletion from the Top 10?!?! Oh man whoever said, "Yep, Arlovski needs to be taken off. He lost to Brett Rogers! We all know any heavyweights in the Top 10 who lose to NON UFC fighters are immediately banished." That person will look stupid next time Arlovski gets back in there.
Werdum gets mo' respect in my Top 10 because he has a better resume than the UFC nuthuggers might think. He has wins over Alistair Overeem, Aleksander Emelianenko, Brandon Vera, and TWO wins over Gabriel Gonzaga. The same Gabriel Gonzaga these nuthuggers thought would demolish Fedor after Gonzaga's KO of Cro Cop! The same Gonzaga that is held in such high regard on Couture's fight record, but then quickly he's fo'gotten when it comes to any other fighters record.
Brett Rogers goes from #8 to #6 on my list just out of sheer common sense. This guy might have bitched and moaned at the wrong time, but his performance against Fedor Emelianenko gained him points as a Top 10 heavyweight if you ask me! If you think his placing is too high just ask yo'self how he'd do against many of the heavyweights out there, and you'll find you'd probably pick him to win 60-70 percent of the time.
Junior Dos Santos only has 9 fights in his career, but his strength of schedule, and pure dominance keeps him in my Top 10. He the only fighter other than Fedor Emelianenko to defeat Mirko "Cro Cop" mentally in a fight. You know it... I know it, and Cro Cop know it. I'm a Cro Cop fan too (War Cro Crizzle!) but that doesn't mean I'm gonna hide shit.
Aleksander Emelianenko made my Top 10 because he's the only guy, who has the ability, in the world of MMA to KO Rogers, Lesnar, and Dos Santos OTHER than Fedor Emelianenko. And if you say "he hasn't faught in forever! He doesn't ave enough big wins!" No Shane Carwin hasn't faught in fo'ever, and Shane Carwin doesn't have enough big wins, but he's being nuthugged by everybody (i.e. MMAWeekly Top 10 HW) because they hope he's gonna beat Brock. Carwin's upcoming fight with Brock has gained him points befo' he even step into the octagon. Plain and simple.
Ok I think I highlighted everything anyone gonna make a fuss about in my new revised Top 10 MMA Hevyweights! Oh yeah. If you wonderin why Frank Mir is placed where he is just look at his record. One win over an injured Nogueira, and a noob Brock don't get you the 3 spot!
